#BEATBOX Supports Liverpool's Big City Soul Collective New Christmas Single
Liverpool's Lord Mayor, Cllr Erica Kemp joined artists and choirs from across the region on Saturday 4th October to record a new charity Christmas single at Parr Street Studios.
The song, 'Liverpool Heart' has been specially written for the City of Liverpool under the banner of the Big City Soul Collective in a bid to embrace Liverpool's grass roots talent.
Over 200 local performers will feature on the track which will raise money for the charity Liverpool Heartbeat to fund projects designed to help young people reach their creative potential.
Up-and-coming young artists such as Joe Maddocks, Sophie-Ellen Evans, Hayli Kincade, Sophie Clarke and Michael Owens will be joining local buskers to record the single alongside the Liverpool Community Choir, the Choir With No Name, AFMIM Gospel Choir and Whitefield School Choir with bands including The Hummingbirds, Ukebox and The Occasionals.
Ian Hewitt said: “People really love the song and we have been overwhelmed by the support we've received for the Big City Soul Collective. I was so proud to write the song as a gift to the City of Liverpool. I am even more proud that the song will be performed by so many individuals and groups who are truly world class vocalists and will bring ' Liverpool Heart' to life. This is Liverpool’s Christmas Song, wear your Liverpool heart on your sleeve and sing out loud with pride in your city.

It looks like everyone is embracing Liverpool Heart, there will be hundreds of individual performances all over the city throughout the Festive Season. From Buskers to Choirs, bands to football fans, family gatherings to carol singers…shops, bars, cafes are all wearing their Liverpool Heart’s on their sleeves and supporting THE BIG CITY SOUL COLLECTIVEChristmas single.”
Lord Mayor Cllr Erica Kemp said: “This is an exciting initiative and I am really delighted to be involved Liverpool Heart is a catchy, anthemic Christmas song that is a great tribute to the City and I think it will capture the imagination of the people.”
“Liverpool Heart” is produced and performed by the Big City Soul Colllective will be released in November. The single will be sold via i-tunes and other digital formats as well as being sold on CD’s in local shops and venues.
